Children should wear comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes for movement, a pencil, their script (once assigned) and a full water bottle each day.

We have siblings & we'd like them to do one class instead
of two....is this possible?

Frequently Asked Questions

What should students bring to class?

Often it works out just perfectly.  Let us know- we can decide what is best for YOUR family together, depending on the personalities and the level(s) of experience..

My child has never been on stage.  Is it okay if they are really just beginning?

Each semester, we have children at each grade level beginning their very first theatre experiences.  We have kindergartners as well as teens who are just starting out.

Can we check out the program before registering?

The best way to check us out is to see a show!  Performances are generally held in December, May & July/August, though they may occasionally vary from this schedule.  Visiting a class just depends on the timing- please ask, and do understand if it is dress rehearsal week and it is a bit too crazy to have visitors!

What happens if the weather is too bad for classes?

We always take the consideration of our family's safety very seriously.  If a class is canceled, we will announce it by e-mail, on each group's facebook page, and by text when possible.  We are located in the Jeffco Public School district; if school is canceled, we will not hold classes.

Are there "days off " for school schedules and holidays?

Please note each class schedule & get those dates into your family calendar when you register for the class.  Only on rare occasions do we deviate from the posted schedule, and only when absolutely necessary.  If you have a vacation planned, a school trip or illness, please do let us know as early as possible.  We ask that our families recognize that the closer we get to production dates, the more important regular attendance becomes!

Are there scholarships available?

The Curtain Playhouse does maintain a scholarship fund for families needing assistance.  If your family would benefit from some financial help, please let our office know.  Generally, when scholarship is available, it is for up to half off the tuition for a class.  We offer sibling discounts of 10% off of the second (or third, or fourth...) child in a class from the same family for those who inquire.

Can I sit in class & watch?

We maintain an open-door policy.  Parents are welcome in our classes as long as their student will be capable of fully participating with their parent in the room.  With some students, especially new ones, they are more comfortable expressing themselves while exerting their independence.

How do I make payments?  What is the cancellation policy?

Initial deposits on classes are non-refundable.  In extenuating circumstances, a credit for the tuition paid may be granted toward a future class.  We DO offer a payment plan dividing the balance (following the $150 initial deposit) over the term of the class.  Please see additional information on our registration page.  Monthly payments are not accepted for summer classes.
