Spring Registration Now Open!

At The Curtain Playhouse we have classes for students in Kindergarten through High School.

No audition is required and all students are accepted regardless of skill level.

If you have questions about our class offerings please email us at

This Spring, The Curtain Playhouse is offering classes for two different age groups:

Grades K - 4: meets Tuesdays, 4:30 - 6:00

Grades 4 - 12: meets Mondays, 4:30 - 6:30

**We consider 4th grade a "cross-over year".  Some families feel their child is ready to move-up

to the older group, some feel they should stay with the younger kids.  If your child is newer to

theatre, we usually recommend they stay with the younger group.

A Radio Play

Classes will be held VIRTUALLY over Zoom this semester. Our show will be edited
so that you can share with friends & family on demand. We very excited to
announce that we are doing a Radio Play this semester, based on "The Wizard of
Oz", written by L. Frank Baum in 1900. Radio drama achieved widespread popularity within a decade of its initial development in the 1920s. By the 1940s, it was a leading international popular entertainment. It remains popular in much of the world. We are looking forward to being able to have the kids work on sound effects and developing their own voices as characters, an important step in building their own Actor's Toolbox.

Tuesday Class

This is the story of a girl named Dorothy who lives with her aunt and uncle on a
farm way out in Kansas. Her dearest friend is her dog Toto, but Dorothy has other
friends too. In her dreams, the farmhands who work for her family become the
Scarecrow, the Tin Woodsman and the Cowardly Lion. She meets them all as she travels down a Yellow Brick Road to a better land, somewhere over the rainbow. On the way they also encounter the Wicked Witch of the West, and many other fanciful characters. Will they finally arrive at the land of Oz? Will they be rewarded by the Wizard of Oz with their hearts' desires? A step back into history, as they create an old-time radio show just like their grandparents (and maybe great grandparents!) once heard the endearing tale.

Monday Class

This is the show that completely changed theatre in 1943, when this first musical by Richard Rodgers

and Oscar Hammerstein II opened on Broadway. It was the first real book musical, in which the

songs and dances were completely integrated into the plot, featuring themes or motifs that recur

throughout the piece, adding drama and drive. At its heart, "Oklahoma!" is a love story

between confident cowboy Curly and feisty farmer Laurey. As the road to romance and the

road to statehood converge, Curly and Laurey are poised to carve out a life together in a

brand new state. But the road to love is as bumpy and fraught with all the dangers and

excitement of the time.

We are meeting over Zoom each week for rehearsals, and some dates not all cast may be

required to attend. If/as allowed, we may be able to come together for some choreography

rehearsals (we ask for your patience with local regulations & recommendations as they adjust). We will come together at 2 on-set days- we will film socially distant and in masks as required. Some support recording from home may be required. We will come together to create our movie on May 1st & 2nd OR May 15th & 16th (weather delay dates). We will be shooting our movies on site at a farm location to be determined. Parents will be asked to volunteer for assistance on set as we create our movie.

Tuition:  $525, payable as $150 class deposit+ $75/month (January-May).

PLEASE NOTE:  if you are registering for classes in January with the January start dates, both the initial deposit and the first month's payment are due.  Tuition is paid in May- although classes have stopped meeting each week, the show will be released for streaming in May, and this is the way to keep payments regular & affordable for everyone.
